2018 week #30

07.21-28.18
gracious, this vacation feels like so long ago!
we had such a great time with the gerber family at lake jimmersion, and settling back into normal life has been a little sad

we spent a lot of time playing games….

practicing card tricks….

plus snuggling and reading books.  (if you can get your hands on “The Wings of Dawn” by Sigmund Brouwer, it’s so well written.  i think i’ve read it at least 3 times, and now clint is reading it to hudson.)

there were seashell hunts and turtle captures.  (wren did a great job “beautifying” the turtles plastic home)

and plenty of snacks.

i think we should have named indie “indie snack”  instead of “indie dawn”.    i guess both are appropriate though ’cause this child was usually up at the crack of dawn…..wanting a snack…..

this incredibly active baby girl had me so scared that she would topple over the sea wall and bash her head.  she has a thing with pier’s – loves them – loves to run full tilt down them, so before we left i bought indie a hideous flotatious “fat suit”, just so i could relax a little.
she looked ridiculously cute, emphasis on the ridiculous part.

clint was one busy boat driver.  i don’t have any pictures of the big kids on the water, ’cause i was just invited along to be the spotter on the younger kid runs.  sunny learned how to ski, cline learned how to cut and cross the wake and double double ski with clint.  hudson’s favorite water sport was wake boarding and tubing …. lots of tubing.

the kids all got along soooo great, which was really no surprise ’cause their cousins are their best friends.
sunny and
iyla are two peas in a pod, and wren and emmy click perfectly too.

it was overcast a lot of the time, but when the sun came out, we relaxed in the water.

some of us relaxed.

some just pestered……

cline’s victory dance as king of the raft

definitely a highlight of our year, and can’t wait til next time!
